For the past 25 years, Xcentric’s injection molding and rapid prototyping experts have been delivering successful projects for engineers and product developers across North America.
“Other companies can manufacture plastic parts. But they don’t have Xcentric’s employees. And that is our greatest differentiator and measure of excellence for our customers.”—Matt McIntosh, CEO of Xcentric.
So, let’s meet the people who make that Xcentric difference!
Chet Skamiera, Plant Manager and Former Design Manager
Chet has 35 years of industry experience. He started as an apprentice mold maker, then worked his way up the ladder—from journeyman to leader to foreman, and then CNC programmer. But Chet was a surface designer at heart and that was what drew him to Xcentric—he wanted to learn to design in solids.
So, when Xcentric offered him a role as a Designer, Chet grabbed the opportunity. Over the next 12 years, Chet learned about solids while helping build the design department. He was subsequently promoted to Design Manager and then Plant Manager, running our Shelby facility.
We asked him to share his thoughts and experiences.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
As a Plant Manager, I ensure customers have a good experience with our Shelby facility. This is, however, the easy part. I love the challenge of leadership. Being a good leader and leading from the front is important to me. I get to help, coach, and grow people. I work hard to create a good culture at our facility so that employees have a quality workday. My aim is to positively impact all employees who enter our doors.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
Representing our company well. I have spent my entire career in the plastics industry. This means I serve customers with confidence that comes from experience.
“What do you need it to do, and when do you need it?”
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
Speed. Quick-turn prototype parts. On-time delivery. (2-week time frame!)
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
I have designed, developed, and built pretty much everything. The most fascinating to me is the work I did for the defense industry. But that’s a story for another time.
Alyssa Peltier, Customer Service Manager
Alyssa has only been a part of Xcentric for a year, but her expertise and work ethic are already elevating the bespoke customer experience Xcentric takes pride in. Before joining Xcentric as a Customer Service Manager, she worked in a similar role for nine years–six years in automotive, two years in manufacturing (building materials), and the remaining in injection molding. As someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, Alyssa found her fit at Xcentric.
She shares her thoughts and experiences with us.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
The people! The team shares the same vision and is dedicated to meeting customer needs. I enjoy the new challenges that arise daily and the variety of new projects and parts.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
The rewarding feeling that comes from helping customers achieve their quick-turn projects and building a relationship with them. I like that we have our customer territories—I enjoy getting to know my customers from industries like automotive, medical, and defense. Also, getting to work with inventors!
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
Our lead times are shorter than most other injection mold companies. We also have a unique team structure with the project managers, technical account managers, and account executives. We provide quotes within 24 hours.
“With our Amazing Customer Experience (ACE) program, we all get to collectively contribute to meeting aggressive customer turnaround times and lead times.”

I had a medical company launch many expedited tools at the end of last year. They were great communicators, and we worked together to make sure we delivered their parts against a stringent timeline. It was a pleasure working with them.
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
Having worked in the automotive industry early in my career, I now enjoy working within other sectors such as defense and medical. They bring a variety of projects to Xcentric.
Tom Walworth, Senior Technical Account Manager
Having grown up in manufacturing facilities due to his family business, Tom was naturally attracted to Xcentric and what we do. He was also ready to move on from his job in the mortgage industry. Xcentric was just the opportunity he needed. Seven years on, Tom hasn’t looked back.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
We have a great team in place—experts in each of their fields bringing a different perspective to the team. Overall, I am proud of what the company does, the products we produce, and our confidence in our ability to deliver.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
Providing customers with a solution and working with them to come up with solutions to complex problems. I enjoy working with them to get their products off the ground—from concept to full-blown production. It boils down to collaboration—working with our customers every step of the way to help them roadmap their products and their projects.
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
Complexity—we don’t shy away from complex projects. We offer complex solutions in a quick turn environment. We are willing to work outside the box on projects, delivering high-quality service. Customers appreciate the detailed technical discussion we can have with them—we speak their language.
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
I worked on a top-secret project involving cell phone cases for the military.
“We delivered high-end indestructible cases for cell phones and tablets and put together these large-scale projects quickly—10 to 20 tools for a project—as a bridge tool to bridge the gap between prototype and full-blown production.”
We’ve had customers use the prototypes long-term.
I was also involved in a project for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies where we delivered 17 different components for a medical delivery device.
