John Sidorowicz, VP of Sales Operations
John has been with Xcentric for 11 years and has a total of 15 years of experience in the industry. His first job was in plastics (dip molding), and he worked his way up from the tool room and then into sales. John became familiar with Xcentric through his prior job (Xcentric was a supplier) and really liked how they operated and what they offered to their customers. When he had the opportunity to join Xcentric, he did not give it a second thought! Over the last 11 years he has seen the company grow exponentially—operating as a 20-person team to now employing nearly 100 people.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
I like the variety of parts we produce across a wide range of industries—which makes every day a new adventure. I enjoy working with a breadth of companies across different industries by bringing their projects to life.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
I love helping customers work through their design challenges—I act as a problem solver for them. I want to make sure we can help solve their complex design challenges and achieve their product vision.
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
To me, the Xcentric difference is made up of a few things. It’s our technical expertise and the ability to be a one-stop shop. Our customers have a point of contact to help shape their product and bring the complex parts to life.
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
It’s so hard to choose one—I’ve probably worked on 5,000-6,000 parts over the years. Although most recently, as the pandemic was starting, we had a company approach us with a need. They had designed a headband for face shields for nurses and they had a need for parts urgently. Under normal circumstances we could quickly turn this around, but we were shut down because of the pandemic. We managed to build multiple tools and have 250K parts run all in the course of 6-8 weeks during the start of the pandemic. We have highlighted this story as a case study. Read it here
John Spencer, Molding Department Manager
John has an impressive 36 years of injection molding experience. He started on the manufacturing floor and has worked his way up within Xcentric. Prior to joining Xcentric, he worked in production houses in the automotive industry for injection molding. He was getting tired of the narrow focus within the automotive industry and wanted more variety in his work. He found Xcentric and the rest is history!
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
Xcentric has a close-knit group of people all working towards a common goal. We have great communication across departments because our work is in-house. I really enjoy everyone I work with—it makes the job easy (and this benefit is often hard to find in companies).
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
I don’t interact much with customers given the nature of my role. However, there are times I get pulled into a project as an expert to address a technical problem or a question a customer may have, which is very rewarding. I do enjoy solving a tough challenge!
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
Because we are a small and tight knit group and all working towards the same goal of making the customer happy, we ensure we have a quick turnaround in answering customer questions.
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
Because we do a lot of military and medical products, I get exposure to a lot of projects that the average person would not get involved in. At the end of the day, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is knowing we made a part that helped save a person’s life. Or we made a part that helped protect someone.
