Eric Lowe, Design Manager
Eric has 29 years of industry experience. His journey to becoming a design expert has been a great lesson in persistence! In fact, he was just out of high school when he began his career as an apprentice mold maker. He started out by building plastic injection molds for five years, then spent 13 years learning how to design them as well. On the way, he picked up CAD software skills. With his burgeoning experience, Eric wanted a job focused on design and found his opportunity with Xcentric (12 years ago now!), joining the company as Design Manager.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
The fast-paced prototype work at Xcentric keeps me fresh—projects can literally wrap in hours or days for design! I am always excited about the steady stream of new projects and the challenge of quick turnarounds.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
Our customers with complex projects always have unique questions, and I enjoy the fact that I can use my technical expertise to help answer those questions and solve their problems.
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
“The Xcentric difference, in my opinion, is our quick turnaround and our ability to do the more complex projects that other companies shy away from.”
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
For the last two years, I have been supporting the medical device industry with COVID-19-related projects. The experience has been fascinating! On any given day, I could be working on multiple projects––supporting Fortune 100 companies through to startups across a wide range of industries, including the military and aerospace.
Ashley Frank, Project Manager
Ashley is relatively new to Xcentric, having joined the team just last year as a Project Manager. Ashley had previously worked in supply chain and sales for a Tier 2 manufacturing supplier to the automotive industry. With ten years of industry experience under her belt, Ashley was ready to try something different. So, she was excited when Xcentric approached her with the new opportunity.
What is your favorite part about working at Xcentric?
Undoubtedly, my colleagues. It’s refreshing to work with this group of great talents who enjoy their jobs. They work hard but also have a good time. It makes doing the job so easy. We are all like-minded and customer-centric and that is the common goal all of us have at the forefront of our actions.
What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
As a problem solver, I like a good challenge, so I often think out of the box, and get as creative as possible to find the best solution. It’s great to show customers a solution to a problem they thought was impossible to solve and exceed their expectations!
In your opinion, what’s the Xcentric difference?
Technology coupled with an excellent service experience. One of the things I first noticed is that there is a huge emphasis on the technology aspect of injection molding—the capacity and expertise of the team. The company is very focused on ensuring they have the proper tools in place so that no matter what project they are presented with, they can meet that customer’s request.
“The customer is at the center of everything we do here.”
What is the most fascinating part you have designed, manufactured, or supported at Xcentric?
Electric current sensor for hard hats. It’s a project that is made in three parts but delivered as one piece—a twice overmolded part. It was such a cool concept, and I was excited that we could make this product for the customer!
